What makes a life,
What makes you feel alive?
Is it in the actual,
The abstract, or both?
Maybe it is quite simple, but maybe not.
Dreams, beauty, culture, kinship, seasons.
The striving, the setbacks and the striving again.
Commentary
This past weekend I went to a beautiful wedding in San Miguel, Mexico. It was the first Latin wedding I’ve attended and I left inspired by what I observed. The warmth of the people, the beauty of the setting, and the emotionality of the culture.
It was clear to me what I liked about the festivities but I was less clear on why it was so moving. Ultimately I realized that what I loved most about the weekend is that it emphasized my favorite things about life, about people and about myself: beauty, kindness, culture, kinship, community, rhythms, seasons, and the pursuit of a meaningful life.
Not surprising to hear that life feels more beautiful when you're surround by people who you care about feel inspired by. Nice share!
